Haomao Technology ("we," "our," or "us") operates the HairGenie AI mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when we share it, where it is stored, and how long we retain it when you use the App.
When you choose or capture a photo for hairstyle generation, the App handles the image pixels that you select. That image may show your face, hair, skin tone, face shape, and other visible facial features ("face data"). The App does not extract or collect facial landmarks, face geometry, biometric identifiers, biometric templates, or faceprints. We use the selected image only to create the hairstyle preview that you request. We do not use face data to identify or authenticate you, build a face profile, track you, or perform face recognition.
When you request an AI hairstyle generation, the App also collects the style prompt or style options that you choose, such as hairstyle type, color, or related generation settings. The App also sends technical request data needed to return the image result, such as the requested output size.
The App stores certain data locally on your device to provide core functionality, including your generation history, favorites, app language, subscription status, and a local path reference to the source photo for saved generation records. This local app data is stored on your device, not on our own servers.
We and our service providers may collect limited device and usage data necessary to operate the App, detect errors, display ads, and manage subscriptions, such as device type, operating system version, app version, language, crash diagnostics, advertising identifiers, and purchase status.
The App sends the selected photo, style prompt or selected style options, and requested output size over HTTPS to DMXAPI, our API processing gateway. DMXAPI routes the request to the Seedream AI image-generation model operated by ByteDance. These providers receive the image only to process and return the hairstyle preview that you requested. They are not authorized by us to use it for face recognition, identity verification, advertising, user profiling, or model training.
We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions, free trials, purchase status, and restore purchases. RevenueCat may process app user identifiers, subscription status, and transaction-related metadata needed to provide these services.
We use Google AdMob to display ads in the free version of the App. AdMob may process device identifiers, IP address, ad interaction data, and related technical information in accordance with Google's own privacy practices.
On iOS, before the first upload of a photo for AI generation, the App presents a consent notice that explains what data will be sent, identifies DMXAPI and Seedream AI (ByteDance), explains the purpose and local storage, links to this Privacy Policy, and asks for your permission before the App transmits the photo. If you do not consent, the App does not upload the selected photo.
The App does not upload face photos to, or store face photos on, servers owned or operated by Haomao Technology. The App sends the generation request directly over HTTPS to the third-party processors described in Section 3.1.
The App creates a private local copy of the photo you select so it can display the current preview and generation history. Generated results and local path references may also remain in the App's sandbox. This local data remains until you choose Settings > AI Photo Processing > Delete local AI photo data, clear the App's data, or uninstall the App. The deletion control removes the App-managed selected-photo copies, locally cached generated images, temporary before/after or sharing images, and generation-history records. It does not delete the original photo from your personal Photos library.
DMXAPI and Seedream AI process the uploaded source photo transiently for the duration needed to complete the requested generation. The uploaded source photo is deleted after processing is complete and is not retained by us. A provider-hosted generated-result URL may remain available for download for no longer than 24 hours, after which it expires. We do not use uploaded photos or generated results for advertising, face recognition, identity verification, user profiling, or model training.
You can delete App-managed local face data at any time using the in-App control described in Section 5.2. You may also contact haomaokeji@gmail.com with a privacy or deletion question. Because we do not maintain an account system or store uploaded face photos on our own servers, we generally have no server-side face-photo record linked to you after processing.
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect the information processed by the App. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure.
The AI request may be processed on DMXAPI or ByteDance infrastructure outside your country of residence, including in China or other regions selected by those providers. The image is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. Other providers listed in Section 3 may process their respective device, advertising, analytics, or purchase data in the regions described in their own privacy notices.
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe that a child provided personal information to us, please contact us and we will investigate and take appropriate action.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will revise the "Last Updated" date above and post the updated version at this page.
